Textbook Rentals

  • Used Textbook Rentals are priced at 45% or less of the new book price.  New package rental prices vary.
  • The Co-op Store offers select used textbook rentals as well as some new package rentals.
  • Customers wishing to rent textbooks from The Co-op Store must complete and sign our Textbook Rental Agreement.
  • As per the Textbook Rental Agreement, rental textbooks must be returned to The Co-op Store on or before the rental return due date.  Failure to comply will result in additional fees and/or forwarding to collections.
  • For new package rentals with access codes, only the textbook must be returned to The Co-op Store by the rental return due date.  Customer may keep the used access code.
  • There are limited quantities of rental textbooks at The Co-op Store – first come, first served.  When we run out of rental textbooks, we cannot rent any more copies.
  • We do not pull rental textbooks for Textbook Reservations.  The customer must be present in the store to rent a book, so rentals are not available via mail order at this time.
  • Rental textbooks are designated on the shelf with a “Rent Me!” shelf tag.
  • Each rental textbook is stickered with a large, brightly colored sticker that wraps from the front cover around the spine to the back cover.
  • All rental books are serialized with a unique serial number.  (This number is the ISBN followed by “A” and a 4-digit number.)  This allows us to know what specific copy of a book has been rented to a specific person.
